I was inspired to write this song late one night after watching Crazy Heart, the story of faded country singer Bad Blake’s dysfunctional life. The main character in the song is similar to Blake but has fewer redeeming qualities and kills everyone in the end. Nothing makes me happier than a good murder ballad. - Andy
lyrics
One dollar in my pocket
Two hands on the wheel
Three girls on my mind
And I got four bullets in cold steel
The lines are getting blurry
And the sun is setting low
And I can't forget 'bout all those things we did in El Paso
But the winds keep on blowing
I'm going crazy
Lights in my mirror
They look like stars to me
and they're shinning down on all those clowns in Nashville, Tennessee
If I can change my way of living
Of broken wings and ball and chain
Well I drown it down with bourbon and I never say your name
Oh I think I'm drowning
You gonna save me?
Restless heart, hope you keep on beating
You're a work of art and you have no meaning
Your pot of of gold with no silver lining
You're a desperate man
No sense believing
No sense believing
